Explaining Faith (“the Site”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit, and how it’s used.

1. Information We Collect#

Since the Site does not currently offer user registration or accounts, we do not collect names, email addresses, or other personal registration data. The following may still apply:

  • Basic usage and location data — standard analytics tools automatically capture visitor IP addresses, which reveal general geographic location (typically country and region, not precise address), along with pages visited, time spent, and device/browser type. This information is used solely to understand overall traffic patterns and see which articles and topics resonate most with readers, helping guide what content is created in the future. It is not tied to your name or identity unless you separately provide it (e.g., through a comment), and is never sold or used for advertising targeting.
  • Cookies — small files that may be used to remember basic preferences or support analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time.
  • Comments — if you leave a comment on an article, the name and email you provide with that comment may be stored and displayed publicly, per standard WordPress comment functionality.
2. How This Information Is Used#

Any data collected is used only to understand general site traffic and improve content — never sold, rented, or used for advertising targeting.

3. Third-Party Services#

The Site may use standard third-party analytics or security tools as part of normal hosting and operation. These providers may process basic technical data (such as IP address) as part of their own services, governed by their own privacy policies.

The Site, including the Collections section, links to third-party videos, podcasts, and websites. Explaining Faith is not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites. Please review their policies directly.

5. Your Rights#

If you’ve left a comment and want it removed or edited, contact us directly at [insert contact email] and we’ll address it as quickly as possible.

6. Children’s Privacy#

This Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy#

This policy may be updated as the Site evolves. Changes will be posted on this page.

8. Contact#

Questions about this Privacy Policy can be directed to [contact email].

    About Explaining Faith

Explaining Faith started as a private Bible study — a personal, ongoing practice of studying Scripture and apologetics for genuine understanding, not built from the outset to be public-facing. Over time that study became a gathered collection: research, sourced answers, historical context, and theological work organized the way anyone might build a private reference library, except built specifically to be used — as a kind of copilot when actually sharing the gospel with someone, ready with real, well-grounded answers in the moment rather than having to reconstruct an argument from scratch mid-conversation. The whole point was never just to collect knowledge privately. It was to have it organized and close at hand for the moment it's actually needed — sharing the gospel with someone else.
